Spring to Mountain Press is named for the T’ai Chi Ch’uan form “Leopard and Tiger Spring to the Mountain.” The form symbolizes, perhaps, both power and peace, an idea difficult to grasp simultaneously.

Poor Advice and Other Stories, Lou Gaglia’s debut collection, and his second book, Sure Things & Last Chances, have little to do with T’ai Chi Ch’uan, leopards, or tigers, and his characters rarely spring to any mountains…but they try.
